If you’re writing a sermon for church this week, I hope you can steal some ideas from this one. If you teach Religious Studies, I hope this can be a conversation starter. It’s about Palm Sunday. I hope it inspires something for you.

Question of the week: Do you worry about the future?

  • Yes - 67%

  • No - 33%

I’m worried about the parade.

I’m trying to reflect on Palm Sunday differently this year. It’s a celebration full of hope and expectation, yet tinged with uncertainty about what was to come.

Jesus entered Jerusalem to shouts of "Hosanna!" and crowds waving palm branches. I imagine it was tense with anticipation. Through many mysteries of our faith, we have come to believe that Jesus understood what the week ahead held - the Last Supper, the garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal, and ultimately the cross. We know the end of the story. But what if we didn’t?

What if Jesus was worried about the parade?
